The Obesity Collective has been involved in two collaborative webinars with the Consortium for Research in Eating Disorders (CoRe-ED), bringing together international perspectives, research, clinical expertise and lived experience to explore important issues at the intersection of eating disorders, obesity and body image.
These events provided opportunities to share knowledge, broaden perspectives and contribute to conversations that support more inclusive, respectful and evidence-informed approaches across health care, research and policy.
Exploring the intersection of eating disorders and obesity
Earlier this year, The Obesity Collective joined CoRe-ED, Weight Issues Network (WIN) and Impact Obesity for a webinar exploring the intersection of eating disorders and obesity from lived experience, clinical and research perspectives.
The webinar brought together representatives from the participating organisations, with perspectives spanning lived experience, clinical practice and research, followed by an extensive Q&A.
The discussion highlighted the importance of approaching conversations about weight and eating disorders with care, recognising the complexity of people’s experiences and the need for evidence-informed, respectful approaches across health care, research and policy.

CoRe-ED Global Research Showcase 2026
The CoRe-ED Global Research Showcase 2026 brought together international perspectives, research and expertise to explore important issues in eating disorders.
As part of the showcase, The Obesity Collective’s Director, Tim Gill, participated in a panel discussion titled Broadening Perspectives on Eating Disorders, contributing to conversations around eating disorders, body image and weight.
We value our ongoing partnership with CoRe-ED and the opportunities to contribute to shared conversations that support a more inclusive, evidence-informed approach to understanding and addressing eating disorders.
