Global Obesity Observatory Receives Major Update

The World Obesity Federation maintains a comprehensive repository of obesity data and policies from across the world in the Global Obesity Observatory. This has recently undergone a substantial revision and update to improve the extent, currency and presentation of this data in this collection.

Key developments include:

  • Comprehensive updates to global data and policies
  • Release of the World Obesity Atlas 2026, providing new estimates of global childhood obesity
  • New and updated presentation maps on the drivers of obesity and obesity-related comorbidities
  • Inclusion of new International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) data on cancers attributable to overweight and obesity
  • Improved usability of our overweight/obesity data tables, including direct links to survey details
  • Updated cross-national survey data from the Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative (COSI), Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS), Eurostat and more!
