Highlights from the 2023 ANZOS Annual Scientific Meeting

We were grateful to be invited to attend and speak at the 2023 Australia New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) Annual Scientific Meeting in October. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate and share knowledge among the leaders in public health, clinical practice, and research. We were so happy to see many of The Obesity Collective leaders attending the conference and presenting!

Tiffany was an invited speaker on the topic of ‘changing how we talk about obesity.’ The path to effective action on obesity in Australia requires a systems approach. While we are always the first to celebrate innovative and insightful obesity research, we are also strong advocates for action. Obesity research is only as useful as its capacity to be put into practice.

The success of the 2023 ANZOS ASM reinforced the significance of reshaping conversations and fostering collaboration in advancing obesity research. We were excited to see such brilliance and passion among all the attendees, but also humbled by how much further we have to go when it comes to action on obesity.
