The One Box: Nurturing Healthy Environments through Accessible Nutrition

Jun 6, 2023 | Inspiring stories, Latest news & media

Creating supportive and healthier environments is vital for promoting positive nutrition and overall health. Both the National Obesity Strategy and the National Prevention Strategy emphasize the importance of food environments, and as advocates, we are continually pushing for their recognition. Fortunately, there are numerous community-led organizations already doing remarkable work in this area.

The One Box tackles the challenge of making nutritious food affordable and sustainable. Through their social enterprise, the Fresh Food Project, they offer affordable fruit and vegetable boxes to families.

The One Box champions healthy and equitable food systems by fostering supportive environments. Through their commitment to sustainability, affordability, equity, and community-building, they make a tangible impact on the lives of individuals and communities. By ensuring access to fresh, nutritious food, The One Box nurtures healthy environments and contributes to a brighter and healthier future for all.

We recently took on two Nutrition Science students on placement from Deakin University to speak with Emily Wild from One Box to find out more information about their organisation and projects.
