We were honoured to attend and present at the 2024 Australia New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) Annual Scientific Meeting in October. It was an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with leaders in public health, clinical practice, and research, and to see many of The Obesity Collective’s leaders sharing their expertise.

Tim and Monica spoke at the event, and the discussions were both impactful and thought-provoking. We believe addressing obesity in Australia requires a systems-based approach, where research is only truly valuable when it leads to real-world solutions. The voices of lived experience, alongside compelling data, sparked insightful conversations about how we can integrate scientific knowledge and personal narratives to create a greater impact in our communities.

The success of the 2024 ANZOS ASM reaffirmed the importance of reshaping conversations and fostering collaboration to drive progress. We were inspired by the brilliance and dedication of all involved, and remain focused on the work ahead to turn research into meaningful action on obesity.
