Public Health Research and Practice special issue on obesity and reframing the narrative

Oct 5, 2022 | Highlights of actions, Latest news & media

In October 2022, the journal Public Health Research and Practice released a special issue including 10 papers on obesity. The papers explore obesity through the life course – from preconception and pregnancy through to adolescence and adulthood – and the actions we need to take to address this issue. The series specifically included contributions from a broad range of Australian and global experts, including lived experience experts, reiterating the need for many different stakeholders to have a shared voice in addressing obesity.

The paper on weight stigma in the healthcare system from our stigma expert team received a huge amount of media interesting!

Thanks to the Health and Social Care Unit at Monash University and VicHealth for making the special edition possible!
